The February 2017 Artists Without Walls Showcase was sponsored by Marty Plevel and served as a benefit for Stars of HOPE. Themed “The Love Force,” this was the second annual love Showcase thanks to Marty’s generosity and commitment: to the arts, artists, the core mission of Artists Without Walls, and to the betterment of our communities.
To call it “star studded” would be an understatement. The talent on the stage at Sid Gold’s Request Room that night, Feb. 16, was off the charts. Niamh Hyland, Sony recording artist Deni Bonet, music legend Walter Parks, Allison Sylvia, Serena Jost, J.r. Garcia. Marty Plevel, Charles R. Hale, Dia Luna and Joe McGinty gave their all — and gave the audience an impactful and emotional show. It was a show that was not only heard, it was palpable in so many positive ways. The audience left wrapped in love from the night — and feeling good. Stevie Wonders tune “Love’s in Need of Love Today”, rounded out the evening and brought artists and audience together in song.
In the process, several hundred dollars were raised for Stars of HOPE.
Next month, the co-founders of Artists Without Walls, Charles R. Hale and Niamh Hyland, invite you to join us for the March Showcase, when we will return to our home, the cell theatre, on March 14. The doors and bar open at 6:45p.m. with the show beginning at 7:30p.m. Arrive early to enjoy some great company, conversation, and, perhaps, to chat with one or more of the night’s featured artists.
