Tara O’Grady and her 5-piece jazz band are opening the season for the 2014 Brooklyn Plaza Swing Series at a FREE outdoor swing dance, Wednesday, June 11. Dance lesson 6:30pm and her swinging band 7:00-8:30pm. Brooklyn Library at 10 Grand Army Plaza. In case of rain, the event will be held on Thursday, June 12. Saturday, 6/14, from 2 to 4pm at The Cell Theater, 338 W. 23rd St., NYC, Ed McCann’s Writers Read presents Listen to Your Father a celebration of writing — and the many faces of fatherhood–featuring established and emerging writers reading short (5 minute) original pieces. An intermission with refreshments and live classical guitar will enable artists and guests to get acquainted.
